My husband and I were recently on a day trip to York. After a highly enjoyable day sightseeing, we decided to round things off with a pub meal before going home.
When we saw an establishment advertising two meals for £6 we decided to put the Yorkshire "big value" reputation to the test. Well, I have to admit that we were floored by the rip-off with which we were presented. Top marks to the staff for marketing technique, but the portions of vegetarian quiche with which we were served were obviously a normal "full price" portion halved, or perhaps even quartered, in order to keep the profit margin up!
Value for money? Give us the man-sized portions of the North East any day... Size matters!
