A prize which could massively boost business for Gareth Preece's Rock Steady Training firm based at the Fishergate Centre, York was presented to him at the Evening Press offices in Walmgate.
Gareth Preece is handed the Id ROM by Darren Wiseman as Paul Featherstone, head of Media Machine looks on
Gareth won our special pre-Christmas pink Business Press competition to earn himself 250 high-tech business cards called an id rom - a device marketed by Darren Wiseman, of Copmanthorpe.
As small as an ordinary card, this aluminium version is curved on two sides to slot into a computer disc drive as easily as any CD Rom. And on it will be up to 38 megabytes of information, including video footage of groups being put through their paces to test their leadership skills on country challenges - abseiling in places like the cave and gorge of Nidderdale or roughing it on the North Yorkshire moors.
The details on the id rom are being assembled by Paul Featherstone, head of Media Machine, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Evening Press which independently offers high-tech design and commercial print one-stop solutions. Total value of the prize: £1,000.
Gareth, who correctly answered the competition questions in the monthly Business Press said: "This will be a fantastic way of promoting ourselves.
"By using film rather than still photographs potential clients can see what we do without stepping out to our course sites. That way they save time and money - and discomfort!"
