Anglers World veteran Stan Haigh won a dour 96-peg penultimate round of the Yorkshire Winter League and claimed the final four Kamasan points he needed to reach the British Open Championship.
The Ouse below York was cold and clear and with only small roach willing to feed it was a low scoring match.

Only half an ounce adrift was his Anglers World team mate Ian Walker, who had 3lb 12oz of small roach on pole and caster caught from peg two in the pumper.

Scarborough Rock Anglers win trophy
by Trevor Dale
There was much relief on the faces of all those who took part in the Bell Trophy team event on Sunday. After weeks of very few fish the cod have finally shown up.
Scarborough Rock Anglers lifted the superb trophy with their 19lb catch, all codling.
Last year's winners South Cliffe Angling Club just missed out on taking pole position due to their aggregate weight per person being slighter lower due to a higher number in their team.
Heaviest bag on the day went to Ray Macklison with an eight fish for 16lb.
Ken Middlemass from Whitby took the heaviest individual fish, a cod of 6lb from Flinton's north of Scarborough.
The north west winds gave the sea much needed light and with it brought in the cod, with most marks producing fish.
The number of team members was down due to some Yorkshire regulars fishing the big Tynemouth Open match on the same day.
