Homeless people are part of community too
I must respond to the letter from R D Wilson ('Wrong Signal', January 22) for the lack of humanity and understanding expressed therein to those who live on our streets. City of York Council is to be commended for allowing the new night shelter in Leeman Road. As are the proprietors of Juice Up who hand out their left over sandwiches to the homeless. Learning to the left?
The recent sad loss of Stacey Brewer serves to remind us of the equally sad losses in recent months of other Evening Press contributors, i.e the late John Potts and Peter Mullen, relocated to a London diocese. Both journalists contributed excellent weekly columns with hard-hitting commentary on current events, albeit with an open, right of centre bias at times. Heavenly spectacular
