High up in the Wolds, the Yorkshire Astronomical Society hoped to catch a glimpse of the lunar eclipse.
The clouds, however, threatened to spoil our event by playing cat and mouse with the moon!
A frantic dash across country to another site just outside Copmanthorpe reaped success as the clouds cleared to give superb views of this fascinating spectacle.
Through the tantalising aroma of fresh barbecued bacon that mixed with the cold crisp air, cameras whirred and clicked as the moon quickly went from full, to crescent and finally to a deep coppery red colour of the eclipse. We had an enjoyable time.
