Volunteers running Yearsley pool is bad idea
What a cheek! I was amazed to read your article covering York leisure services' suggestion that they are contemplating setting up a community trust to run Yearsley pool (January 17). Great British rip-offs
It has been made clear by several Government and Opposition figures that, if we are to have a health service as good as those operating in the Netherlands, Germany and France, the public will have to fund it through higher taxation. Nice big earner
With reference to the letter from Keith Smith (Evening Press, January 12), I am fully aware that money for the Millennium celebrations would have come from the public purse. Treasure our libraries
I am amazed that in this new century which marks 2,000 years of Christianity that there is a proposal to change our library system.
