Itchy but cushioned feet are set to push York City's Mr Dependable, Wayne Hall, through the pain barrier.

With City's season at a low ebb, Hall admits he is chomping at the bit to help guide the team to an upturn in fortunes.

Hall is expected to make his first senior start since November 27 tomorrow in a left-sided midfield role.

Such is his commitment to the cause, he will play despite still being troubled by a heel injury that has yet to completely clear-up.

"I am just playing through it," he explained. "I just want to play football and there are certain times when you have just got to bite the bullet and get on with things.

"The specialist said it could take up to three months to clear so I have had some special insoles made that take the pressure of the heel when I walk and hopefully that will put me in good stead for game.

"Its the bone that is causing the problem, a policeman's heel the specialist calls it, but I just have to play through it.

"It could take from two weeks right up to three months to clear and there is nothing really, expect jabs which I have had three of anyway, to clear it.

"To be fair, it is a lot better than what it was and to be fair to Jeff (Miller, City's physiotherapist) I am sick of the sight of him."

Hall, who earlier this term broke through the 400 appearance barrier and is now just three behind sixth-placed Tony Canham in the all-time appearance records for City, said a lack of luck had played a part in the club's recent slump.

"When the luck is against you it is difficult.

"We should have been two or three goals up last week against Mansfield and in the second-half things turned around against us. But that is football and we have just got to get on with it."
