JUST THE TICKET: David Reibel, of York, who was first in the queue for tickets for the York Millennium Mystery Plays today. The box office at St William's College is open Monday to Saturdays
The York Millennium Mystery Plays box office opened to the public today ....but 50 per cent of the box office target has already been reached.
It was the first chance customers had to buy tickets in person and the chief executive of the Millennium Mystery Plays, Delma Tomlin, was there to greet them. The box office will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 5pm at £21, £14, £7.
The plays, to be staged in York Minster for the first time, will be one of the major international events marking the Millennium. Hundreds of local people will be involved, many of them schoolchildren, as the city unites behind the production. The box office is situated at St William's College, College Street, York.
