I must make the following points about market traders having to sell goods in metric weights.
This country has been metric for the best part of 30 years so there's been plenty of time to prepare for the changes.
The old people they feel are going to be confused by the changes were likely to be aged between 30 and 50 when metric measures were introduced.
Surely the cost of recalibrating scales is an ongoing business expense and should be done on a regular basis to ensure the public are not receiving short measures. Why did this story make the front page of the Evening Press last Tuesday?
