I hope no one is going to start bleating about "poor fare on Christmas/New Year TV" - which is so often the criticism after the festive period.
The programmes in the main were a pleasant surprise, and the Eastenders wedding and return of Raquel in Coronation Street were excellent.
A very special bouquet to the BBC for their New Year 2000 special led by the superb Gaby Roslin (how did she keep going?) and to Sir Peter Snow for his fact-sheets.
The trips around the world to see in 2000, and the whole dawning of a New Millennium were classic, and all credit must be given to the BBC.
