Evening Press Reader's Letter
It is six months since the voters of this region expressed their confidence in Conservative policies in Europe and elected us to serve their interests in the European Parliament.
We have done this precisely as we promised by challenging European bureaucracy over regulation and legislation; by fighting for British interests especially those of farmers and consumers, and we have worked with our partners on the centre right to concentrate on free enterprise, freedom of the individual and against socialist interference and the extension of European intervention where it is not required.
We fought under the Conservative slogan 'In Europe, Not Run By Europe'. Our region will prosper if this philosophy continues to be put into practice.
