I wonder if the French ministers who are so concerned about the health risks associated with British beef have visited a public toilet in their own country recently?

Thanks to piano man
A big thank you to the young man playing the piano in St Helen's Square on Wednesday, December 29.
The weather was very cold, but he kept the shoppers and visitors well entertained. Please come back in the warmer weather; perhaps we might have tables chairs, tea and scones by then - but not the statue.
Olga J Simpson,
Arran Place, York.
Wheelie lazy
I support Kate Lock (Letters, December 29) in asking for a kerbside recycling collection. But I suggest that the council stops issuing wheelie bins. These encourage people to be lazy and tip everything in them instead of sorting out recyclable items such as paper, glass and aluminium cans.
