Adam Sinclair, of the Mulberry hall store in Stonegate, York, where the annual sale starts tomorrow
The finest crystal, china and porcelain will tomorrow be up for grabs at knock-down prices when Mulberry Hall begins its annual New Year sale.
Bargain-hunters are expected to be queuing up outside the shop, in Stonegate, York, before it opens early tomorrow - the first day of the sale.
One of the centrepieces of the sale will be a porcelain figurine entitled Allegory of Liberty, by the Spanish maker Lladro, at £770. Its recommended retail price was £1,100.
Adam Sinclair, managing director of the store, said: "It's the biggest china and glass offering outside Harrods, in London.
"We had excellent business all through December and we were 20 per cent up on where we were last year.
"We are really pleased. Obviously, with the Millennium celebrations we sold a lot of champagne glasses."
Mr Sinclair added that Royal Doulton items were being sold for two-thirds their original price and Herend porcelain would be for sale at half the usual amount.
