I would be obliged if Coun Brumby or one of his computer experts could, possibly through the columns of your paper, give me a breakdown of the £60,000 extra cost of tipping a wheelie bin as opposed to throwing a plastic bag into the vehicle at each house.
As I see it, many people in York would be paying an increase in council tax for the privilege of partially doing the job, at present the responsibility of the waste disposal authority.
I wonder if the council have acquired a Blair-type computer which gives out only the answers to suit the council. The present boast is for a more open council. Put your money where your mouth is, Mr Brumby.
