Tadcaster Riverside School enjoyed their night under lights.
They beat Skelton Primary 1-0 at Bootham Crecent in York City's Five-a-Side Schools Cup competition City's division three game against Southend last Friday.
The match was refereed by City player Martin Garrett.
Tadcaster Riverside will now play Clifton Without, who beat St Mary's RC in the first game in the tournament in the second round.
The next cup fixture will be between Poppleton Road and Woodthorpe prior to City's game against Mansfield on Saturday, January 8.
Meanwhile, All Saints RC School's five-a-side team have qualified for the area finals of the Wagon Wheels National Cup.
The York team, who beat Archbishop Holgate School 3-2 to progress go into the next stage, to be played in January and February 2000, aiming to reach the national finals which will be staged at Aston Villa Leisure Centre on March 18.
There are no more City Boys' matches until Saturday, January 15, 2000 when the U11s, U12s and U13s are all at home to Huddersfield.
Young footballers from Bramcote School, Scarborough, have received a ringing endorsement from Scarborough FC assistant manager Ray McHale.
The youngsters won 12 of their 13 matches last term, netting 95 goals and conceding just seven.
Top scorer was 12-year-old Guy Faith (22 goals), whose grandparents live in York.
McHale, said: "It was a great pleasure coaching the boys, many of whom have high skill levels. They are well disciplined, enthusiastic and keen to learn."
Bramcote also won Yorkshire's five-a-side tournament for Yorkshire prep schools for the fifth year running.

Basketball players from Ryedale School at Nawton, near Helmsley, are walking tall after winning their group in the Scarborough Area Schools Basketball Tournament.
They beat teams from Filey School, Malton School and St Augustine's RC School, Scarborough, to earn a place in the final against Lady Lumley's School, Pickering, who they beat 15-11.
