Evening Press Reader's Letter
Regarding Ella Hirst's succinct letter about Cliff Richard's Millennium Prayer (December 11), I have no particular axe to grind.
I'm neither for nor against 'Saint' Cliff - he clearly needs no help from radio stations, when national newspapers can give his hit single all the publicity it either does, or does not, deserve. I don't see what all the fuss is about. Singing the words of one song to the tune of another has been going on for more 30 years via Radio 4's 'I'm Sorry I haven't A Clue". It takes a clever man to take such nonsense to the number one spot.
