Evening Press Reader
I have thought for some time how best to tackle the problem of litter around schools.
I didn't realise it was inside as well (Schools Blitz On Untidy Pupils, December 10).
How about the head teacher introducing a litter patrol whereby each child takes a turn going round picking up other classmates' litter?
They would soon resent having to pick up other people's rubbish. As so many of them belong nowadays to the "someone-else-will-do-it brigade" they will become the "someone else", and might think twice about dropping litter anywhere, and as the classrooms become tidier, less time will have to be spent on it.
