Club skipper and scrum half Nigel Durham returns to lead York at West Park Bramhope in a club game tomorrow.

He will be hoping to help York break their points duck away from home after they lost 36-0 at Halifax, 39-0 at Castleford in the NPI Cup, and 23-0 at Old Crossleyans.

Former Ripon player Andy Banks comes in at full-back for Tom Copeland who is still being troubled by the shoulder injury that kept him out most of last season.

Rob Liddle returns on the wing, and Martin Cartwright comes in at prop.

Jon McNeish is unavailable so club stalwart Rob Allen gets a run out at hooker.

In the back row Matt Halifax replaces Nick Smart.

On the bench are Andy Smith, Mick Parsonage, James Arkle and John Matthews, who makes a return to the first team squad after a number of years' absence. The tactical use of substitutions has been a feature of York's game this season.

West Park Bramhope, of North Division 2, are without a league win this season.

A coincidence in the Tetley's Bitter Cup sees Harrogate drawn at home in tomorrow's second round against the side that beat them 24-11 in the Jewson's National League One last week, Preston Grasshoppers.

Harrogate coach Ralph Zoing has made no secret of the fact that he has his main eye on progress in the league rather than the cup, and he is making use of the competition to look at his promising junior players.

He also needs to find a replacement for his RAF lock, Peter Taylor, who injured a shoulder at Preston last Saturday, although Taylor's injury is not as bad as originally feared.

Zoing is selecting from a squad of 21 which includes centre Tim Barley and hooker Richard Whyley.

Clubs still involved in the second rounds of the NPI Insurance Cup and the Tetley's Bitter Vase include Pocklington, who visit Beverley in the NPI, and Scarborough, who entertain Hessle.

Pocklington have Mark Taylor returning at full back after missing last week's game with a strain and Scottish Rugby League international Rob Nolan returns after being taken off with hamstring trouble last Saturday.

Andrew Wilson is also named in Pock's back five squad. Wilson left Pocklington to play in Leicester's Development side before playing for Yorkshire U21s, returning to Percy Road after a spell with Goole.

Andy Downes is still missing from the Scarborough squad with an arm strain, Steve Hopper returning from holiday at hooker, leaving Jason Cockerill to return to captain the Vikings at Hullensians.

Rob Bell plays his second game as Grant Lenton returns after being unavailable to undertake the kicking duties in the absence of Bill Freeman, and Andy Holloway is named on the wing.

In-form Malton and Norton do not have a first team game tomorrow as they save themselves for an away game against Ampleforth College on Sunday (2.30pm), but Malt's second string tackle a Hull Ionians XV at The Gannock tomorrow.

Selby entertain Pontefract in a non-league game tomorrow with a 6ft 5in teenage giant Rob Taylor in the forwards behind a solid front row consisting of Sam Longthorpe, Tom Bayston and Andrew Pocklington. Richard Taylor is named at centre.

Two other clubs who failed to make it through to the second round of the NPI Cup - Acklam and Ripon - meet at Talbot Park.

Ripon have Al Norrie at hooker as Ashley Thomas is working and former New Earswick All Black player Paul Goldsmith takes the place of Adam Ferris at lock as Ferris is working.

Ben Taylor returns after ankle ligament trouble and, in a back reshuffle, George Whitaker is named on the wing.

Nestl Rowntree have spent the week trying to fill a gap on their fixture list - so far without success.
