Automotive interiors manufacturer Treves UK, has officially opened its new £3 million headquarters at Farnham, near Knaresborough. Previously based at Pannal, Harrogate, the French company also plans to invest a further £1 million in new plant and machinery over the next year, creating more than 35 jobs.
As well as purchasing land and buildings at Farnham, the initial spend involved modifications to the site, including new lighting, heating, sprinkler and chemical systems.
The expansion reflects the growth of the company's sales over the past ten years, providing pioneering seating components for the likes of Nissan, Ford, Peugeot and Chrysler.
Managing director, Chris Webborn, says the decision to invest on such a large scale relates directly to the confidence customers have in its products.
Chairman of the Treves Group, Bernard Treves - based at the group's head office in France - attended the official opening at Farnham to conduct a tree planting ceremony.
Treves is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Treves, a privately-owned French company that is a world leader in automotive interiors, manufacturing covering materials, seat components and interior and acoustic systems.
The group has 4,000 employees worldwide and a £430 million turnover. Treves currently makes quality foam-in-place automotive trim components such as headrests.
