Warning Reef, who gave due warning that his winning turn was near at Thirsk last Monday, can fulfil that promise at Haydock tomorrow.

The Eric Alston-trained gelding goes for the featured £10,000 Tote Placepot Showcase Handicap with Willie Supple in the saddle.

Supple was also aboard Warning Reef when the six-year-old failed by only a neck to get the better of the in-form High Tatra at Thirsk last week. Indeed, it could be argued that he was slightly unlucky on that occasion, having to switch to find some daylight after being short of room two furlongs out.

Clearly coming back to top form, Warning Reef has strong claims here, racing from the foot of the handicap.

Alston and Supple can also take the Come Racing At Haydock Handicap with Sharp Edge Boy.

A winner at Hamilton this season, Sharp Edge Boy has raced consistently well since and was beaten little more than a length into third place at Ripon last week by Ballina Lad over six furlongs.

Tomorrow's extra furlong should suit him even better and, in an open race, he is awarded the nap vote.

Supple should also enjoy a good ride from Embryonic in the Penny Lane Handicap over two miles.

Trained in the Lake District by Martin Todhunter, who has been enjoying a splendid run with his largely jumping string, Embryonic shaped with unmistakable promise on his reappearance at Ripon last week to finish sixth to Happy Days.

Swan At Whalley should not be overlooked in the Dean Moor Handicap.

Trained at Hambleton by Kevin Ryan, who sent out a winner at Redcar yesterday, the seven-year-old returned to the winning trail at Musselburgh when beating subsequent winner Another Nightmare, and has since finished an excellent second on the same course to the in-form Johayro.

Swan At Whalley has more on his plate tomorrow, but this once smart sprinter is expected to make a bold bid.

My Pleasure, runner-up in his last two starts, is proving frustrating to follow, but Ed Dunlop's three-year-old is worth one more chance in the North East Slag Cement Maiden Stakes. Richard Quinn has the mount.

At Yarmouth, Performing Magic is likely to be sent off at short odds in the Breckland Maiden Stakes after a luckless defeat at Goodwood on his debut.

Henry Cecil's colt lost the best part of the ten lengths early on, after missing the break and then being hampered by a loose horse. But, to his credit, he was beaten only four lengths into third place by the well-regarded Perugia.

Deserved compensation should come the way of Performing Magic tomorrow. Kieren Fallon again has the mount.

Comic will have punters smiling if she can gain her second success in the Great Yarmouth For Great Holidays Handicap.

John Gosden's filly showed plenty of determination to score at Windsor last month on only her third outing and has the scope for further improvement.

Richard Hills has the mount.
