I would appeal for the killing in Yugoslavia and Kosovo to be stopped. The residents of York can help bring this about by taking part in the parliamentary petition I have organised.
It simply asks for the Prime Minister to discuss with Nato and the UN the resumption of negotiations and to stop the bombing during these negotiations as soon as possible.
It is not the intention of this petition to take sides. The killing of innocent people intentionally or by mistake is wrong. If you agree with this simple statement and would like to urge the Prime Minister to try one thing he has proved himself to excel at, negotiation, please do what you can to get as many signatures as possible. The Friends Meeting House, Friargate, York, has kindly agreed to be a collection point for blank petition forms. Please go along and collect your forms from there.
There has to be a better way to resolve this conflict.
Don Derrett,
Reighton Avenue,
York.
