Your article about the new World of James Herriot (May 22) included details of how to drive to Thirsk and how to arrive by train but omitted to mention that Thirsk is also accessible by bus.
This includes a relatively new coach service (X90) from York run by Stagecoach Transit which calls at Thirsk Market Place, only a short distance from the attraction.
Information on this service and others to attractions in the area is available from the Council's Bus Information Inquiry Line on (01904) 551400.
This will assist people without access to a car and responsible car users who might wish to minimise any adverse environmental effects of their visit on places which you describe as sometimes 'uncomfortably crowded'.
