Butterwick trainer Richard Fahey, who saddles two fancied runners in Sweden tonight, will be in action closer to home tomorrow when Cautious Joe bids to give him a notable victory at Beverley's evening meeting.
Fahey this morning reported that all is well with Superior Premium and Raheen, a winner at York last month, as they prepare to go into battle at Taby racecouse in Stockholm tonight. Both horses have valuable Listed race targets and both will be partnered by Michael Roberts.
Back on home ground tomorrow evening, Cautious Joe has excellent prospects of giving the in-form Fahey a win in the £15,000 Hilary Needler Trophy.
A debut winner at Newcastle last month, when she started at 25-1, Cautious Joe has thrived since and is napped to make a bold bid in the hands of Robert Winston.
Dual winner Pipadash, trained by Tim Easterby, Fahey's brother-in-law, who won last year's race with Flanders, is fancied to give Cautious Joe most to think about, along with Charles Booth-trained Palmstead Belle.
As the second leg of a notable juvenile double-header Beverley also stages the £15,000 Brian Yeardley Continental Two Year Old Trophy, which is open to colts and geldings.
Shatin Venture created a useful first impression at Ayr when coming fast and late to nail the odds-on Hammer And Sickle, who franked the form by winning at Redcar yesterday.
Trained close by Ayr racecourse by Linda Perratt, the Scottish raider should not be underestimated.
Harmony Hall can lift the Racing Pages Handicap.
Milton Bradley's charge has finished runner-up in two of his last three starts, most recently at Kempton 11 days ago when he failed by only a neck to get the better of Argent. Compensation awaits him here.
Liberty Lines, a creditable third to Miss Shema at Kempton on her season reappearance, would not need to produce much more than that to clinch her first success in the Good Night Out Maiden Stakes.
At Newcastle's afternoon meeting, On Till Morning deserves respect in the Brandling House Handicap.
The Peter Calvert-trained three-year-old showed plenty of promise on her reappearance at Redcar last month, staying on well to finish fourth to Whizz Kid in an all-aged handicap over the minimum distance.
Up against only three-year-olds tomorrow and stepping up to six furlongs, On Till Morning has solid claims under George Duffield.
Cumbrian Blue should not be underestimated in the St Modwen Handicap.
An all-weather track winner for Tim Easterby, Cumbrian Blue is clearly very much at home on turf and, although unplaced in his two latest runs, at Newcastle and York, he was far from disgraced in either race.
Indeed, he was carried wide from a poor draw on Knavesmire and did well under the circumstances to finish eighth to Swallow Flight. Kevin Darley has the mount here.
Terrazzo, a recent Musselburgh winner for Jimmy FitzGerald, has good prospects of following-up in the Dutton Forshaw Jaguar Handicap.
