Moneyed types with delusions of grandeur can now become lord of the manor in the time it takes to talk to their broker. A mere £345,000 will buy you The Grange, complete with impressive grounds, a stable block and the title Lord Foggathorpe.
The estate agents believe the chance to lord it over Foggathorpe's 189 residents will be a big selling point. And the idea could catch on. With a little manipulation of other property deeds, we may soon get the chance to become the semi-detached Squire of Skewsby or the fully-modernised Marquis of Minskip.
But until then, it seems that the Foggathorpe Grange offers the best opportunity for the loaded to become "your lordship".
