I congratulate the Evening Press on its school reports. Through them the newspaper is doing much to raise the profiles of schools in York and North Yorkshire.
Schools in the city and county provide excellent services and deserve to be reviewed in the way the Evening Press is doing. I was particularly pleased to see positive features about special schooling in the city. Our four special schools do much to challenge and support some of the city's most disadvantaged young people.
The teachers, support staff and governors are often the unsung heroes and heroines of the classroom.
Thanks, Evening Press. Keep it up!
