Your report and pictured highlighted the results of an arson attack on a shed and greenhouse (Evening Press, April 15).
To set the record straight, the total number of incidents of crime being committed against allotment tenants' property is 118, covering the period February 14, 1996 to May 9, 1999.
This information is the result of reports by the victims and by site observation by fellow plot-holders (tenants).
The record is a sad reflection on the state of this site and the ease of access available to evil-doers.
This city should be greatly alarmed that such a state of misery to the victims is allowed to continue.
What is this city and its citizens going to do to stop this rot?
Can anyone advise or suggest a way out for us? I am one of the many victims.
Doug Barnes,
Anne Street,
York.
