I SEE the statue of St Helena is rearing her ugly head again.
After the furore she raised in February, when plans to plant her in front of the Mansion House were first discussed in public, things have been strangely quiet.
Then in Tuesday's Evening Press she appeared again, tucked away modestly in a Public Notice on page 14.
I urge everybody who, like me, has misgivings about this proposed 5.33 metre monstrosity to write urgently to I D Thomson, Assistant Director (Planning and Design) at 9 St Leonard's Place, York YO1 7ET.
