So work on the Northern Gateway park and ride is underway.
Despite the fact that this large site is next to the ring road it is not to be served from the by-pass but from the A19 itself.
This ludicrous and inexplicable decision will result in more than 2,000 additional traffic movements daily past residential properties along part of the A19 when the site is fully operational along with other alterations such as traffic lights at the entrance etc.
What right has the council to impose this situation when it could have been avoided? If a private developer had submitted a plan such as this to the council he would have been laughed out of court and told to produce sensible and workable proposals at his expense.
In this case the council developed and approved their own planning application and even managed to sell it to the Government.
Very soon the results of this first class blunder will be seen and felt by all.
