Weather was the winner of the second week of fixtures in the Evening Press Cricket World Cup.

Heavy rain meant that the eagerly-awaited matches in the competition, sponsored by Rawcliffes Intersport, at the University of York were unable to go ahead as planned.
Some teams have already rescheduled their matches for this week, but the pitches at the university will be available tomorrow for any sides who wish to play their fixtures which were called off.
Teams should inform Mike Kilmartin at Our Lady's School, about their week two re-arranged fixtures on 01904 411036.
The pitches at the university may also be available on Thursday, May 27, but teams wishing to play their outstanding week two games on that date should check with the university's Director of Physical Education on 01904 433854.
The outstanding matches can also be played on Friday, June 4, - a date set aside to catch up with any remaining games before the competition moves into the knockout stages.
The competition involves sixteen teams from Primary Schools from the York area with each team taking the name of countries which are involved in the Cricket World Cup proper.
Everyone will be keep their fingers crossed that the weather holds this Friday so the third batch of games can go ahead.

Group C: England A (Robert Wilkinson, Strensall) v Australia (Bishopthorpe II) on pitch 2; Scotland (Westfield II) v Sri Lanka A (Appleton Roebuck) on pitch 3
Group D: Zimbabwe (Kingsway) v Sri Lanka (St Aelred's) on pitch 1; West Indies A (Knavesmire II) v England (Knavesmire) on pitch 6.
