A THEME park which turns knuckles white is set to stop visitors turning red and suffering from the sun's harmful rays.
Lightwater Valley, near Ripon, has launched a one-week Be Safe In The Sun campaign which will see visitors offered free squirts of sunscreen to protect them from the sun.
Janette Gudgeon, of the amusements park, said: "After the unexpected hot weather we had during the May Day Bank Holiday, some of our visitors were caught out and burned in the sun. As safety and enjoyment are paramount at Lightwater Valley, we decided to offer all our guests free sun lotion."
The park is also advising visitors to cover up, wear cool clothing and avoid long spells in the sun, particularly in the middle of the day.
Janette added: "The nice weather will always bring more people out to the park, but often they forget to pack the sun cream.
"The sun can especially affect those who enjoy the fast thrill rides, as you cannot always feel the strength of the rays."
The squirts of sun lotion will be on offer from May 29 to June 6.
