Huntington Ladies clinched the second promotion spot in division two of York Badminton League with a 7-2 home win over Tadcaster 86 and an 8-1 away win over St John's.
Bev Tebbutt and Val Nolton took maximums in both matches for a two match total of 191-84.
Selby 77 pulled off a surprise 5-4 home win over Clifton Ladies in division one. Alison Dinsdale and Michelle Osborne swung the match in Selby's favour with three wins for 90-33, including an eight and six over Ronnie Davison and Shelagh Barker.
Drax Ladies visited YUSC and were good value for a 6-3 win. Sue Matchett and Julie Smyth put in the best display for the visitors with three straight wins for a total of 90-37.
In Men's division three, top club Selby 77 beat second placed Shepherd's 6-3 at Millthorpe School. Dave Hearn and Rob Overall topped the Selby averages with three wins for a total of 101-70.
Shepherd's bounced back in their next match to beat Fulfordgate 7-2 at Burnholme School. Sean Ogley and Dave Simpson put in a good display for Shepherd's with three wins for 101-53, including an 11-15 15-9 15-7 over Pete Twidell and Matt Hobman, who put in the best home display.
Drax 'A' scored a convincing 9-0 home win over Knavesmire 'A' in mixed division one. Phil Brunyard and Julie Smythe rounded up an excellent season together with another maximum, this time for a total of 90-49. The Drax club's excellent home form has seen them capture second spot in mixed one behind York RI.
Rowntree's 'B' won mixed division two after a superb 8-1 away win over Pocklington at Pocklington Sports Centre. Emma and Steve Andrew led the confectionery charge with three straight wins for 92-53. M Burrows and S Howatt took the home consolation with a 15-7 11-15 15-5 over Brenda Drummond and Geoff Whittaker.
Sheriff Hutton won mixed four by 11 points from Millthorpe 'B' after a 7-2 away win over Drax 'D'. Jo Wade and Dave Grieve kept up their good partnership for Sheriff with three straight wins for a return of 90-31.
Millthorpe emphasised their second spot in mixed four with home and away wins over Market Weighton. The rubbers total showed 12-4 in Millthorpe's favour over the two matches. John Fitch and Jeanette Gilbert put in the best Millthorpe display for a two match total of 150-69 after one rubber was conceded due to an injury to their opponents.
Fulfordgate 'A' ended their mixed five season with a 7-2 home win over Terry's. Mark Winfield and Susie Raine took both Terry's wins, but lost out 14 and nine to Peter Twidell and Gill Soothill who took all three for a return of 90-41.
Ray Oxley and Hazel Quarrie took three wins for Middlethorpe as their side beat Drax 'E' 8-1 in mixed six. Oxley and Quarrie returned a total of 100-56 out of their team's match aces total of 279-158.
In an earlier match Middlethorpe visited YUSC 'B' and lost 3-6 in a close fought match. The best performances came from the visitors' Ann Oxley and Paul Walker who took all their side's three wins for an aces total of 99-66.
There are some results for which the match secretary has not yet received details. The club secretaries concerned will be contacted soon in order to complete the league records.
