We asked for a swift decision on the manager's job at York City, and we got one. Neil Thompson is the man charged with taking the club back to Division Two.
Thompson, realising that next season starts here, is not prevaricating. His knowledge of the club, gained as caretaker manager, has allowed him to undertake an immediate shake-up of the City squad.
That is encouraging. If the Minstermen are going to start the new campaign strongly, then an injection of fresh talent is needed.
The time for moping about City's relegation is over. A red revival should begin today.
