A unique double has been achieved by a York-based independent financial adviser who has won two top national industry awards.
Robin Thompson, investment manager with London York Fund Managers is Investment Independent Financial Adviser of the Year and Independent Financial Advisor of the Year.
It is the third year in succession he has won a national industry award, which was presented at an awards ceremony in London. Mr Thompson, who lives in Sutton-on-Forest, received £2,500 and a lap-top computer.
He is currently launching a new Unit Trust-managed service for London York to create a "best of the best" portfolio by helping client to invest in a range of top performing Unit Trusts.
Founded in 1980, London York Fund Managers merged with G&E Investments in 1996.
Meanwhile, Clive Holbrook, a director of York-based Independent Financial Advisors Hallmark - part of Original Holdings - won a top "trust rating" as the adviser who most impressed the independent Mail On Sunday reporter who conducted an undercover survey.
He was also the only adviser who referred to environmental and ethical issues in connection with investments.
