Hundreds of runners took to the roads around Easingwold for the 18th annual Galtres Run.
RUN FOR HOME: Competitors start in the one and a half mile Galtres Fun Run at Easingwold
A day of events included fun runs for families and the more serious half marathon and 10K race for amateur athletes.
People came from all over the country to take part in the half marathon but the winner was from closer to home - Steven Simpson from York Acorn club, who also won the team event
Second and third places were taken by members of the Quakers' Club in Darlington and the winner of the women's race was Sheila Allen, from Houghton and Peterlee.
The event is organised every year by Easingwold District Scout Council.
Fairground rides and stalls were set up for families to enjoy and more than 400 people took part in the one-and-a-half mile fun run.
Secretary Wendy Waistell said: "There is always a good atmosphere and it's a big day for the whole town.
"We had a lot of people who registered on the day and people came from as far away as Norwich, Rhyl and Edinburgh."
