Now that the Battle of the Bands competition is over, I would like to say how much I've enjoyed my visits to Fibbers caf bar in Stonebow, York.
On each occasion I have found everyone to be very friendly.
The door staff are welcoming and thorough and the bar staff are attentive and efficient.
Any inquiry is greeted with a smile and a prompt response.
All the bands that I saw in the competition were friendly to each other and objective about their performances, making future contacts and giving mutual support.
After all they are the only ones who know what it's like up there on the night and so have an affinity.
They are the future of the local music scene, which looks rosy with this talent and such a supportive venue. I would not hesitate to recommend Fibbers to anyone.
