It would appear that following the admission appeal with the local education authority for children hoping to attend their local schools many have been unsuccessful, leaving parents feeling guilty of putting their local school as their first preference.
It makes sense for children to have the nearest school to their home and if parents preferred another school outside their catchment area, they then have the option to move, or put in an appeal.
This year's intake has gone terribly wrong; there seem to be many questions and not enough answers.
So let's cut the red tape, be sensible, be practical and give children their local schools.
