With reference to the Northern Gateway article (Evening Press, April 26), I would like to put the following matters straight.
Being a founder member of the Friends of Rawcliffe Meadows (FORM), and the person who confronted the then city council director, John Rigby, over the likely environmental problems, in front of the first consultation meeting about the Northern Gateway scheme back in December 1996, I was also the person who distributed a letter of concern to councillors (including Rod Hills).
I would like Mr Templeman to produce the evidence for FORM's support of the Northern Gateway scheme.
None of those few people who make up FORM, and have rescued this beautiful water meadow from near dereliction, would support a scheme that has always carried the promise of damage to our efforts.
I would also like to see the evidence that they had support from others (without a financial interest) in the scheme.
