York rider Peter Turnbull will be in action at the Oliver's Mount race circuit over the May Bank Holiday weekend in the Superbike class.

Turnbull will be racing alongside last year's Cock O' The North winner Simon Beck and Northallerton's Phil Stead.

The big event of the weekend is the annual Ken Redfern National Road Races, which this year will run like speedway with riders racing three times against different opponents.

The top point scorers will progress through to the final for the Ken Redfern Trophy.

Lucky programme numbers will be drawn at lunch time and the winners will get a chance of either going on a lap of the circuit as a passenger to one of the top sidecar riders or two free tickets to the Cock O' The North Race Meeting during BikeWeek in July.

On Saturday and Sunday there will be a chance to see two, three and four wheeled machines competing to become the fastest machine in the Speed Hill Climb.

There has been a huge entry for the car classes for Austin 7s, MGs, Alpine-Renault, Ferraris, Westfields and also qualifiers to one of the country's top National Championships, the Nottingham Sports Car Club Championship.

Over 90 drivers have entered in vehicles ranging from a pre-war Austin 7 to a 7-litre single seater Grand Prix McLaren.

There have been entrants from as far away as Warwickshire and South Wales and there will be local interest in the form of Mark Green from York who has entered the Sports Car Class, Scarborough solicitor Barry Newton, John Green from Malton and Nigel Stubbs from York.

Hill Climb action starts on Saturday and Sunday at 10am and will run until 5.30pm. Admission is £6 for adults each day or £10 for a two day pass. Accompanied children under 16 are free.

On Monday the first Road Race begins at 12.30pm, admission costs £10 for adults and under 16's are free. A discount pass can be purchased lasting for all three days, costing £15.

We have four pairs of tickets to give away for the latest rounds of the World Superbike series at Donington Park on Sunday.

Britain's Carl Fogarty will be in action as he aims for a fourth world crown but will be pushed all the way by Ducati team-mate Troy Corser, Fogarty having won two previous races in South Africa and Corser replying in Australia.

To be in with a chance of winning, answer the following question: How many World Superbike races has Carl Fogarty won so far this year?
