Richard Quinn, who is going great guns in his first year as a freelance rider, can hit the bullseye again at Bath tomorrow.
Quinn teams up with Inya Lake in the European Breeders' Fund Lansdown Fillies Stakes and has a sterling chance of lifting this £20,000 feature event.
Trained at Lambourn by Mick Channon, Inya Lake went from strength to strength last season and started this term in tremendous style. The three-year-old swooped late and fast to beat Henry Hall by a head in the Field Marshal Stakes at Haydock.
A filly who relishes soft ground, Inya Lake has conditions in her favour tomorrow and she is strongly fancied to give the mighty Quinn another winner.
Bring Sweets can come out on top in the Tattentham Corner Conditions Stakes. Barry Hills' three-year-old, twice a winner last season, seemed to find the fast ground against him at Ripon earlier this month when third to Mensa. Tomorrow's much easier ground should suit Bring Sweets considerably better.
Fizzygig is certainly worth a second look in the Levy Board Handicap.
The three-year-old made a most encouraging return to action at Leicester earlier this month when third to Captain Miller over seven furlongs. Fizzygig has another three furlongs to go tomorrow but gives the impression that the longer trip will suit her even better.
At Nottingham, Top Jem makes stacks of appeal, despite top weight in the 'Come Racing At Nottingham' Fillies Handicap.
Mick Ryan has few peers at striking while the iron is hot with his horses, and Top Jem is currently chasing a rapid four-timer. The five-year-old was most recently successful at Beverley, where she had two and half lengths to spare over Night Flyer.
She is set to race off a 7lb higher mark tomorrow but the astute Ryan has booked smart apprentice Neil Callan, whose 5lb claim will offset most of that extra burden. She is napped to oblige again.
Flying Flip could pop up at rewarding odds in the '249 Days Left in The Nottingham Millennium Countdown' Handicap. Kevin Darley's mount ran as though needing the race at Leicester at the beginning of this mont when fifth to the in-form Thrower (winner again since) but has the scope to do much better over tomorrow's longer distance, on a course where she won last season.
