I can answer the secret of York's clean streets (Letters, April 22). It is perfectly simply.
Concentrate most of the street cleaning equipment in all the tourist centres and areas and very occasionally clean the outer lanes and roads. Most of the lanes and roads I use frequently are full of dirt and weeds. Once again it is look after the visitors, and ignore the residents.
