YORK riders Paul Watson (Velo Club York) and John Clarke (Knaresborough RT) both won events last weekend.
Watson, 21-year-old son of former York international John Watson who rode for Clifton CC for several years, followed up his victory in the YLCA 15 mile event against the clock at Hull by winning the Brough Wheelers open ten mile time trial on the South Cave course.
Loughborough University student Watson produced a superb 20min 52sec ride only a few seconds outside his personal best time for the distance.
He beat Hull's Joel Wainman (Pete Read Racing) by ten seconds.
York veteran Roy Brooks (Knaresborough RT) improved his best at the distance to 24-47 in his first full season of racing, having only entered the sport last year just to keep fit.

Clarke's victory came in the 40 mile Church Minshull Road Race in Cheshire, where he produced one of his devastating spring finishes to beat some classy fellow veterans.
