It was with interest that I read your article on animal rights activist Barry Horne being back in the hospital because of a recent hunger strike that he said was not related to his stand on animal rights (Evening Press, April 17).
I think it is dreadful that the National Health Service will have to once again pick up the bill for someone who has inflicted harm on himself.
I think it is time for the state to be granted the right to force feed him liquids so that he cannot do this again.
There are too many people who really need hospital care and here we have a healthy man who is taking up a bed in the hospital and making the NHS pay for his treatment. I find this totally unacceptable!
