I have just finished writing to my solicitor, telling her that I cannot afford to pursue my case any further because of the cost of the Legal Aid contributions.
I am still paying Legal Aid contributions for my divorce four years ago.
All I want is to be able to change the type of mortgage I have, so in the future the house will become mine. But I can't do this because of the cost of tracing my ex-husband. Meanwhile, he can just sit back and reap the 'money back' offers without paying out a penny.
The Legal Aid system is not concerned with ordinary people, only with the people who could give it good publicity. It's about time this changed.
