A YORK neighbourhood could soon have others green with envy if plans to improve the local environment get the go ahead.
Acomb Neighbourhood Forum meets on Monday, April 26 to discuss its spending plans and several ideas with an ecological theme are to be put forward.
Among the schemes hoping to win funding are The Friends of Fishponds Nature Reserve, Northfield School Wildlife Garden and Wildlife Links.
Neighbourhood worker Ruth Batty said: "All the schemes have been listed on a leaflet and delivered to every home in Acomb ward and if you live in Acomb ward, you have the right to vote on what you should get for your money.
"In fact any resident over 11-year-old can cast a vote for or against any scheme - and residents shouldn't worry if they can't get to the meeting as they can always vote by phone or post."
The meeting takes place at Carr Junior School at 7.30pm.
If residents wish to vote by phone they should refer to the list posted to them and telephone their preference through on (01904) 551026 by 4pm on Monday, April 26.
Voting by post can be done by writing to the Citizens Support Group, 2 Blake Street, York, YO1 8QG. Postal votes must arrive by April 26 and clearly indicate which schemes are being voted for and against.
