MY family was involved in the Malton/Norton flood disaster, so I must comment on how different national companies have treated us since.

The insurance companies (buildings/contents) have so far been very helpful and as we would expect.

Not so a company which makes huge profits daily, namely British Telecom.

When the insurance companies moved us out into another property, to enable builders to carry out repairs to flood damage, BT promptly demanded £70 to keep our existing telephone number on an existing line!

And we are an existing customer! I think no more.
