The Theatre Royal in York has developed a new opportunity for businesses and local groups.
The Dean of York, The Very Rev Raymond Furnell, with Maureen Loffill, President of the Chamber of Commerce opens the new corporate facilities at the Theatre Royal
The Keregan Room, built under the vaulting arches of the 12th Century St Leonard's Hospital, forms the foundations of the theatre, and is now a function room.
The launch follows a joint event with the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, Arts and Business and the Theatre Royal.
The Keregan Room, named after Mrs Keregan, who built the original theatre on the site in 1744, will be available for hire for meetings, to use for corporate entertainment and will be the home of the Theatre Royal's new business club, Show Business Partners.
Members receive a multitude of benefits, from free tickets and complimentary wine, to networking opportunities at Members Nights, to exclusive invitations for the business community.
Maureen Loffill, area manager for HSBC Bank and president of the York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce, said: "It is important, in the world of business, for us to develop as many strings to our bow as possible. We have long felt the need for bespoke space for corporate entertainment, meetings and training sessions.
