WHAT a gloriously angry letter you published from Robert Holmes about The Big Breakfast TV programme (April 12). It would be an under-statement to say that he doesn't like it! But, hasn't he somewhat missed the point?

He labels it as mindless, giggling and chaotic. I agree, but personally would use those adjectives to describe its attractions rather than its shortcomings. As an occasional viewer, I suppose I too must be 'inglorious peasant who dwells in the land of vacuity'. Where exactly is that?

As for Kelly Brook, I rather think that her attributes are self-evident. Presumably a number of female viewers would say the same thing about Johnny Vaughan. For someone who takes such exception to The Big Breakfast, could I suggest that Mr. Holmes either stays in bed a while longer in the morning, instead of getting up so early to watch it, or, alternatively, switches channels to a rather more serious breakfast television programme.
