John Dunlop and Richard Hills, who will be represented in Thursday's Craven Stakes by Mujahid, the 2,000 Guineas favourite, can get in the winning mood at Newmarket tomorrow.

The trainer and jockey will field Haami in the £35,000 Weatherbys Earl Of Sefton Stakes and this high-class colt is fancied to take the world of beating.

A leading contender for last year's Derby, Haami failed to do himself justice at Epsom where he suffered a breathing problem and came back badly dehydrated.

Off the track for two months, he was dropped down in distance for his remaining three races, the last of which he won, over nine furlongs on Newmarket's Rowley Mile course, beating Mudeer by two and a half lengths.

With the Dunlop horses in such excellent form, Haami has a fine chance of starting this season in the same way he ended last term, and is napped to land tomorrow's Group 3 spoils.

Salty Jack can make his presence felt in the opening Grantchester Rated Handicap - but don't expect to see him until very late in the day.

The five-year-old needs to be held up until the last possible moment and Ray Cochrane, his rider tomorrow, executed those tactics to perfection at Doncaster last September, when producing Salty Jack with an audacious challenge just a stride or two from the line.

Watching tomorrow's contest will probably not do the hearts of his backers much good, but Salty Jack has strong claims.

The £30,000 Victor Chandler European Free Handicap offers the smart Vision Of Night the chance to lift his seven furlongs Listed event and provide Richard Quinn the leading jockey, with yet another winner.

Vision Of Night can also complete a double for Haami's trainer John Dunlop.

At Beverley's opening meeting of the season, Settrington's John Quinn can clinch the Hutton Cranswick Maiden Auction Stakes with Tara's Girl.

The two-year-old belied her 20-1 odds on her debut at Haydock recently when finishing second to Pipadash. She is taken to go one better here.

Middleham trainer James Bethell has good prospects of completing a Beverley double.

Little Amin, off the mark at Newcastle a fortnight ago, can follow up in the Withernsea Handicap, while Medelai, a winner at Nottingham last season, can lift the modest Bridlington Bay Handicap.
