This is the age of the bimbo.

Symptoms of this malady can be seen any weekday at 7am on the Channel 4 programme Big Breakfast. The show is run by juvenile cretins whose sole purpose is to expound the philosophy of chaos. The programme consists of persistent outbursts of mindless giggling and senseless noise; it is without form or reason.

Clearly, the programme is aimed at that army of inglorious peasants who dwell in the land of vacuity, voraciously consuming the rubbish served up by commercial television and the great British tabloids.

The chief Bimbette is the 19-year-old former bra model Kelly Brook, who seems to have mastered the art of inarticulation. Her only contribution is a series of grunts interspersed with bouts of spurious laughter.

Unfortunately, this sorry spectacle is dominated by the relentless yapping of Johnny Vaughan, whose skill as a TV presenter must have been acquired by watching old newsreels of Oswald Mosley.

What a pathetic disgrace.
