What is the BBC playing at? It has decided that to call us "British" is offensive and we are no longer a "nation".
Their controller, Philip Harding, should note that in a recent Foreign Office survey 87 per cent still felt substantially British. Last year's Runnymede Trust survey confirmed that most under-25's are no different. Yet while the BBC ignores the majority, it is using licence-payers' money towards imposing an unwanted European citizenship in education programmes. The address for complaints is: Broadcasting House, London W1A 1AA, or vlc@bbc.co.uk.
(New Alliance is a cross-party organisation educating the public about Britain's future in the next century and on alternatives to European unity.)
